Marlene Austin is the Executive Director at PASSAGES, Inc., the sexual violence agency serving Clarion, Clearfield and Jefferson Counties in PA. Marlene started as a Prevention Educator in 1996, and stayed in this role for nearly 17 years. She has had the privilege of presenting at numerous state conferences over the years, and was a co-presenter at the National Sexual Assault Conference in Baltimore. In 2014, Marlene assumed her current position of Executive Director. In 2018, she was honored to be recognized along with three other advocates during Advocacy Day at the state capitol for the work done on behalf of sexual assault and abuse survivors, and for the sexual violence prevention work done in their communities over the years. In 2024, Marlene was selected as one of the recipients of the NSVRC’s Visionary Voice Awards, which recognizes the creativity and hard work of individuals around the country who have demonstrated outstanding work to end sexual violence. Marlene credits the tremendous work PASSAGES, Inc. does for survivors to her incredibly dedicated staff, who are sincerely passionate about this work.
Marlene has served on various committees and boards throughout the years, but currently serves on the Advisory Board for the Child Advocacy Center of Clearfield County, Jefferson-Clarion Head Start Board of Directors, Penn-West University Title IX Committee, Clarion Human Services Council, and just starting to serve as a member on the Clarion County Children and Youth’s Advisory Board.
Marlene resides in St. Petersburg, PA, with her husband, Scott, who are the proud parents of their son Zach.
